Mr. Kyle James Cason, age 74, died on Friday, February 14, 2014.
He was a Bulloch County native and was a former member of the Army National Guard. He was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation after 34 years of service as a Permit Engineer. Mr. Cason was instrumental in establishing bingo at the American Legion Post 45. He loved to hunt and fish and was a member of the Sinkhole Hunting Club. He was a member of the Register Baptist Church.
Mr. Cason was the third of eleven children and was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Redetha Bath Cason; a sister Catherine Cason Weathers; three brothers Jolly Cason, Robby Lee Cason and James Cason.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years Jo Ann Lavender Cason; three children Sheila C. (Hugh) Hotchkiss, Lewis Kyle (Thelma) Cason and David Wayne (Missy) Cason all of Statesboro, GA; seven grandchildren Tootie Hickman, Casey Colbert, Kyle James Cason II, Paige Cason, Cole Cason, Hayes Cason, Abbie Cason; three great grandchildren Kylie Howell, Kayleigh Hickman and Jada Collins; four brothers Dwight Cason, Larry Cason, Terry Cason and Roger Cason; two sisters Virginia Bragg and Juanita Williams; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The visitation will be held on Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.
The funeral will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Ledbetter officiating.
Pallbearers will be Tony Cason, Roger Wayne Cason, Jeff Weathers, Ronnie Cason, Kenneth Bragg and Daniel Cason.
Honorary pallbearers will be co-workers from the Department of Transportation and members of the Sinkhole Hunting Club.
Entombment will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Fostering Bulloch, 2505 Watering Hole Ct. Statesboro, Georgia or the Open Hearts Community Mission P.O. Box 2048 Statesboro, Georgia 30459.

- Tom W. Morris Ludowici--Tom W. Morris, 66, of Ludowici died May 14, 2006, after an extended illness. The Long County native was a member of Ludowici First Baptist Church. He was a former Long County Deputy Sheriff, Ludowici City Clerk and a construction worker. Survivors are his wife of 40 years, Betty Rogers Morris of Ludowici; a daughter and son-in-law, Nikki and Rodney Lynn of Townsend; three granddaughters, Delia Middleton, Jami Middleton and Courtney Middleton, all of Ludowici; her mother-in-law, Elise Rogers of Ludowici; a sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn and Kyle Cason of Statesboro; two half-sisters, Linda Ezelle of Forsyth, Sue Hinson of Byron; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Becky Levie of Snellville, Henry Holcomb, Howard and Eileen Holcomb, all of Savannah; three brothers-in-law, James Rogers, Bill and Sharon Rogers, all of Ludowici; Darren and Melanie Ray of Davie, Fla.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held May 17 from Jones Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Stokes and the Rev. Robert Long officiating. Interment was in Jones Creek Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Tony Fowler, Wayne Stanley, Bo Dunham, Wynn Dunham, Jody Dunham and David Futch. Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
