Robert Brice Meek, Sr.
CLOVER -- Mr. Meek, 87, of Lake City, Florida, formerly of Clover, died Sunday, November 23, 2003 at Lake City Veteran's Administration Hospital.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hopeful Baptist Church of Lake City, FL, with the Rev. Rodney Baker and Rev. Lowell O'Steen officiating.
A graveside service and interment will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bethel Presbyterian Church of Clover, SC with the Rev. John Gess officiating.
A native of Clover, SC, Mr. Meek was the son of the late Francis A. and Eulala Boyd Meek. He was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church of Clover, SC, and attended Hopeful Baptist Church and Bethlehem Baptist Church of Lake City, FL. He was a retired farmer and also retired from Community Cash Stores. He was a veteran of World War II having served in five major campaigns in the European Theater including the Invasion of France and the Battle of the Ardennes.
Mr. Meek was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys Johnson Meek.
Survivors are his wife, Fay Dicks Gay Meek of Lake City, FL; son, Bobby Meek and wife Debbie of Clover, SC; daughter, Sarah Meek Kalinowsky and husband George of Las Vegas, NV; two step-sons, Dewy Gay and wife Ann and Tevis Gay and wife Melissa, of Lake City, FL; two grandchildren, six step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren; and one sister, Emily Meek Camp and husband John of Columbia, SC.
The family will receive friends in Lake City, FL at the Meek home on Price Creek Road. After the graveside service, the family will receive friends in the Family Life Center of Bethel Presbyterian Church, Clover, SC.
Memorials may be made to the building funds of Hopeful Baptist Church, Rt. 6, Box 1371, Lake City, FL 32025, or Bethel Presbyterian Church, 2445 Hwy 557, Clover, SC 29710.
