Powell STATESBORO -- Mrs. Eunice Hudson Powell, 75, died April 23 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. The native of Grady County moved to Bulloch County in 1947. She was a graduate of Abraham Baldwin College and GSCW (now known as Georgia College and State University). She received a master of education in home economics from the University of Georgia. She taught at Register High School for a year and served as a faculty member at Marvin Pittman Laboratory School for many years before retiring. She was the widow of Herbert Lee Powell Sr. SURVIVORS: two sons, Herbert L. Powell and Hudson Powell, both of Statesboro; a daughter, Sally Waters of Statesboro; two brothers, John G. Hudson Jr. of Stone Mountain and the Rev. David E. Hudson of Portal; three sisters, Kathryn H. Miller of Whigham, Martha R. Stevens of Lake Mary, Fla., and Betty H. Clarke of Greenville, S.C.; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. VISITATION: 6-9 p.m. today at Hodges-Turner-Anderson Funeral Home, Statesboro. FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Thursday at Pittman Park United Methodist Church, burial in Eastside Cemetery. REMEMBRANCES: Pittman Park United Methodist Church Building Fund, 1102 Fair Road, Statesboro, GA 30458.
