    • from LDS Archive Record On Cannon Cason's (father of William) group sheet, William's death date is given as 4 Jan 1847. On Willam's group sheet (which cites Bible Record and DAR record) William's death date is given as 1 Jan. 1847. William's group sheet also mentions "3 children, names and dates unknown" Information on second marriage comes from LDS Archive record which cites "Letter from Cousin Ida, sister to Dr. Raleigh Cason."
      from Roster of South Carolina Patriots in the American Revolution by Bobby Gilmer Moss: "Cason, William b. 10/17 April 1749, Pitt County, N. C. d. 1 Jan 1847 While residing in the Fairfield District, he served under Capt. John Graves and Col. Joseph Kirkland or Thomas Taylor. In addition, he was engaged in manufacturing guns under Capt. John Graves. Next, he was under Capt. William Miller. (Moved to Ga.) McCall, III, 49."
