Death	HOWARD LEE DEKALB JORDAN: Newspaper Obituary and Death Notice State, The (Columbia, SC) - Saturday, December 1, 2007 Deceased Name: HOWARD LEE DEKALB JORDAN DARLINGTON -- Howard Jordan, age 93, of Darlington passed away November 29, 2007, in McLeod Regional Hospital. He was born April 29, 1914, to Robert L. Jordan and Blanche W. Jordan in the Lake Swamp Community of Darlington County. He graduated from Lake Swamp High School and Columbia Business College in Columbia, SC. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II. He retired as a salesman from Borden Chemicals and was a longtime member of Pine Grove Methodist Church in Darlington County. He was a sports enthusiast and particularly enjoyed golf, baseball and football. He was a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Survivors include his wife of forty-one years, Beulah Huffman Jordan; three sons, Burt D. (Delette) Jordan of Darlington, Robert P. (Mary Jo) Jordan of Darlington, H. Russell (Billie) Jordan of Tryon, NC; one daughter, Margaret R. Richardson of Columbia, SC; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Jordan was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, one sister and a wife of twenty-five years, Java Davis Jordan. A graveside service will be held at Pine Grove Methodist Church, 3455 Timmonsville Highway, Timmonsville, SC 29161 at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2007. Visitation will follow the services in Pine Grove Church Fellowship Hall. Funeral arrangements are provided by Belk Funeral Home of Darlington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Brenda Kinsaul, 2689 S. Center Road, Timmonsville, SC 29161.
