Mrs. Wilks was born June 19, 1928 in Ruby, SC, a daughter of the late Dennis Grady and Mary Rebecca Allen Ratliff. She was a homemaker. Mildred was a member of White Oak Presbyterian Church and also attended Clanton Plains Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a sister, Blanche Allen. Survivors are husband, Dewey L. Wilks of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald W. and Allison Wilks, of Columbia, SC; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca W. and John Patterson, of Columbia, SC; two brothers, John Ratliff of Hawaii and Roy Ratliff of McColl, SC; one sister, Ruby Poole of Virginia; also several beloved nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Chesterfield County, PO Box 293, Chesterfield, SC 29709 or to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29212.
