  	CLYDE WILLARD WILKES Clyde Willard Wilkes FLORENCE Clyde Willard Wilkes, 65, of Florence, died Friday, August 21, 2009 in McLeod Hospice House after an illness. Mr. Wilkes was born in Florence County, a son of the late Willard Smith Wilkes and Nannie Bell Andrews Wilkes Poston. He received his Associates Degree from Florence-Darlington Technical College and was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church where he was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class and a member of the "Circle of Friends". He retired in 1998 from ESAB having worked in the Shipping and Receiving Departments. He was preceded in death by his parents and his step-father, H.L. Poston. Surviving are his wife, Brenda Carter Wilkes of the home; daughters, Michelle Wilkes and Tammy Ashley, both of Florence; brother, Larry (Delores) Wilkes of Florence; granddaughter, Breanna Ashley of Florence and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, 306 W. Cherokee Road, Florence, SC 29501 or to the McLeod Hospice House, PO Box 100551, Florence, SC 29502. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM Sunday, August 23, 2009 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Florence Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Published in the Morning News on 8/22/2009
