William Cone was the son of William Cone and Elizabeth Morris of Martin County NC. He married Keziah Eudel Barber at the Pee Dee Station in NC. He was a Patriot Soldier during the Cherokee Wars proceeding the American Revolutin and also a resident of Cheraw County SC before migrating to Effingham County Ga, later Bulloch County. His Great Grandson was Fredrick Preston Cone, Governor of Florida 1937 to 1942. His Son William Henry Cone, III was the Indian Fighter of Camden County Ga, who later settled in Columbia County Florida. His grandson was William Henry Cone, IV married to Sarah Emily Branch, and the parents of Fred P Cone. William Cone, Jr. was also a Minister and Justice of the Peace in Bulloch County. He resided in the Ivanhoe Voting District of Bulluch County.The cemetary is adjacent to the Old Barber Family Homestead near the Stagecoach Road on the western bank of the Ogeechee River south of Ga. Hgwy 119.
