	Mrs. Essie Mae Taylor McKee, 87, died Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at White Oak Manor in York, SC. All services will be private. Mrs. McKee was born September 7, 1932 in Chester County, SC and was a daughter of the late John Simpson Taylor and Maebelle Wilkes Taylor. She was a graduate of Chester High School and retired from Springs Industries. Mrs. McKee was a member of First Baptist Church of Chester where she was a member of the Dorcas Sunday School class and served on the cooking team. She is survived by one son, Butch McKee (Sandra) of Chester; one daughter, Lisa McKee Barnes (Shelton) of Sharpsburg, NC; five grandchildren, Tiffany Snipes, Chris McKee, Andrea Whitley, Melissa Griggs and Brad Hopper; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Wood of Charlottesville, VA; one brother, Jimmy Taylor (Jessie) of Lugoff, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. McKee was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Clyde McKee. Memorials may be made to Relay for Life/American Cancer Society, c/o Christy Wilburn, 587 Lakenglen Rd., Chester, SC 29706.
