Funeral services for Mae Etter Warren Wilkes, 89, were held at 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, 2006, at Wilkes Chapel United Methodist Church. The Revs. Ronnie Caulder, Larry Melton, and Matt Rucker officiated with burial in Wilkes Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home.?
Mrs. Wilkes, widow of Jesse Malone Wilkes, died Friday, Sept. 15. Born in Kershaw County, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Florence Douglass Warren. She was a member of Wilkes Chapel United Methodist Church.?
Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Jessie ?Boker? and Lou Ann Wilkes Jr. of Hartsville, James ?Tot? and Charlotte Wilkes of Hartsville, Gene and Deena Wilkes of McBee, Jerry and Abigail Wilkes, and Lawrence ?Pete? and Buffy Wilkes, all of Hartsville; daughters and son-in-law, Mary Lou Hancock and Frances and Steve McKenzie, all of Hartsville; sister and brother-in-law, Rosie Lee and Paul Hostetler of Sumter; grandchildren, Jeannie Hause, Richard Hancock, Crystal Jordan, Joseph Andrew ?Andy?
