- Mrs. Ruby W. Cason, 89, of Interlachen passed away Tuesday evening July 12, 2022 at her residence following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Alachua, Florida, she was the daughter of the late John Ervin and Lula Mae Hilliard Coleman and had lived in Lake City for many years before moving to Interlachen in 2006. She was an avid reader especially reading her Bible and morning devotions every day with her morning coffee. Hobbies included fishing, swimming, playing Sudoku, she loved playing Canasta in the evenings with best friend Mildred and spending time with her family. Mrs. Cason was a member of Oak Avenue Baptist Church in Florahome.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Buddy Cason in 1972, her second husband Jesse Cason in 2012, and sons, Chuck and Larry.
She is survived by her children, Sherry Boehm (Bryan), Kenny Cason (Mary), Pam Jolley (Mark), Timmy Cason, Charlene Cason, and Ed Cason (Diane); 20 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cason will be held on Monday, July 18, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at the Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Timmy Plymel officiating. Interment will follow at North Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Alachua. Visitation with the family will be held from 1:00-2:00 P.M. (1 hour before services) at the funeral home.
