Wilkes REIDSVILLE -- Mrs. Mattie McNear Wilkes, 91, died Nov. 2 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah. The Jenkins County native lived in Reidsville most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Pearson's Chapel United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Chester Wilkes. SURVIVORS: two daughters, Juanita Sharpe and Susie W. Rowland, both of Reidsville; two sons, Dale Wilkes of Augusta and C.G. Wilkes of Garden City; a brother, Harrison McNear of Savannah; a sister, Susie Smith of Reidsville; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. VISITATION: 6-8 p.m. today at McCall Funeral Home in Reidsville. FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Saturday at McCall Funeral Home, burial in Reidsville City Cemetery.
