GREENSBORO Prelton "P.D."Delbrage Honeycutt passed away on April 2, 2017 at Whitestone.
He was born May 13, 1919 in Sampson County to the William "Billy" Honeycutt and Ellen Tyndall Honeycutt.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at the Whitestone Chapel. There will be a reception following the memorial service at Whitestone.
The interment will be held at 12:00 pm Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Lakeview Memorial Park.
He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings; wife, Alta Freeman Crumpler in 1999 after 59 years of marriage, and daughter, Peggy Stanley in 2014, Greensboro, NC and granddaughter, Amy Poetzinger in 2015, Boca Raton, FI; two sons-in-law. Jack W. Stanley and Ronald Swails.
Delbrage is survived by his daughters, Mary Ellen Swails, Betty Hilliard and husband Kenneth of Venice, FL. He was blessed with three grandsons, and five granddaughters, nine great-grandsons and eight great-granddaughters.
Delbrage loved spending family time with his girls, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, loved holding and loving them as little babies. He along with his Fireman friends were avid fishermen along the Outerbanks. He also loved woodworking and produced many beautiful pieces of furniture. Delbrage also leaves behind extended family and after Delbrage graduated from Clement High School in 1936, married in 1940, served time in the Navy, he moved to Greensboro, NC. He worked and retired from the Greensboro Fire Department in 1980 after serving 34 years. He was a longtime member of Friendly Road Baptist Church, Greensboro, NC.
