WHEELER Carl Henry Wheeler, age 72, of Macclenny, Florida passed away May 24, 2011 at Shands Jacksonville.
Carl was born in Lake City, FL to the late John Henry Wheeler and Lura Mae Wilson Wheeler on June 25, 1938. He was retired from Haskell Company after 35 years of service as a Foreman. Carl loved the Lord and enjoyed fishing, hunting, being outdoors and spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his infant son, his granddaughter: Angela Yarborough and his late wife: Zelma Wheeler.
Survivors include his wife of 8 years: Mary Wheeler; his brother: Eldridge Wheeler of Macclenny, FL; his sister: Rachel (VH) Keene of Macclenny, FL; his children: Debbie (Jerry) Jordan of Glen St. Mary, FL, Betty (Bob) Yarborough of Glen St. Mary, FL, Carla (Ernie) Richards of St. George, GA, Susie (Oscar) Gray of Macclenny, FL, Kathy (Bryan) Long of Macclenny, FL, Carl (Stephanie) Wheeler, Jr. of Macclenny and Steven (Traci) Wheeler of Glen St. Mary, FL; his step children: Chris (Terry) Simmons, Belinda Sanchez, Jeff (Laura) Simmons; his 22 grandchildren; his 19 great grandchildren and his loving mother-in-law: Esther Sirmans.
Funeral services will be held on Friday May 27, 2011 at 10:00 am at Christian Fellowship Temple in Macclenny, FL with Pastors Timmy Thomas & Gary Crummey officiating. Interment will follow in South Prong Cemetery in Sanderson, FL. The family will receive friends on Thursday May 26, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the church.
