Funeral Services for Sadie H. Oliver (92) of Baldwin, Florida will be held 11 a.m., Monday, February 23, 2009 at the First Baptist Church of Baldwin with Rev. Chris Drum and Rev. Danny Fouraker officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Brandy Branch Cemetery, Bryceville, Florida. The family will receive friends from 2 - 4 p.m., Sunday, February 22, 2009 at Prestwood Funeral Home.
Mrs. Oliver was born August 1, 1916, daughter of James and Lela Ruis and was adopted two years later by Lester and Mozell Holland. She passed away February 20, 2009 in Jacksonville, Florida following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Oliver resided in Baldwin, Florida most of her life and was the oldest living member of the First Baptist Church of Baldwin.
Her survivors include: Son, Bill Oliver (Pat); Two Daughters, Marion Stokes (Wilton) and JoAnn Fouraker; Nineteen Grandchildren, Eight Great Grandchildren and Five Great-Great Grandchildren; Two Sisters, Mary Barbee (Cliff) and Mildred Cowart. She was preceded in death by: Husband of 51 years, Enoch G. Oliver; Son-In-Law, David Fouraker, Jr.; Granddaughter, Bonnie Stokes. Died:
Mildred Holland Hamm Cowart, 93, of Metter, formerly of Collins, died Sunday, January 31, 2016, at Candler County Hospital. She was born in the Cedar Creek Community, the daughter of Lester and Mozelle Saturday Holland. Moving to Metter in 2009 from Collins, she had lived in the Cobbtown-Aline area in the 1940's and 1950's. Mildred was a great seamstress who enjoyed making doll clothes for her nieces, a homemaker and also worked at a clothing factory in Collins. Enjoying a good laugh, she always had a story to tell.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Palmer Hamm and Gordon Cowart; and a son, Harry, "Bootsie" Hamm.
Survivors are nieces and a nephew, Shirley Gable Williams of LeCanto, FL, Marion Oliver Stokes of Baldwin, FL, JoAnn Oliver Fouraker of Bryceville, FL and Billy Oliver of Jacksonville, FL; and a family friend, Sandra Smith Cartee of Collins.
