    Elton Wilson Dicks

    Mr. Elton Wilson Dicks, age 81, of Lake City, Fla. died Thursday, Jan. 27, in the North Florida Regional Medical Center, Gainesville, Fla. following an extended illness.

    Mr. Dicks was a native of Lake City, Fla. and had resided in Jacksonville, Fla. for 27 years before moving back to Lake City in 1975. He was the son of the late James R. and Dollie Robinson Dicks and was a licensed life insurance agent with Prudential Life Insurance Company, Jacksonville, Fla. for 27 years until his retirement in 1975. After returning to Lake City he was engaged in farming and raising cattle on his farm.

    Mr. Dicks was a member of the Hopeful Baptist Church of Lake City, Fla. and an Army veteran of W.W. II.

    Survivors include his wife, Lucille E. Dicks of Lake City, Fla.; two sons, Dennis D. Dicks of Lake City, Fla. and Galen D. (Joan) Dicks of Green Cove Springs, Fla.; one sister, Myrtle Johnson of Wrightsville, Ga.; two grandchildren, Evelyn Dicks and Sara Dicks both of Green Cove Springs, Fla.

    Funeral services will be conducted at 3 P.M. Sunday, Jan. 30, in the Hopeful Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Reed, Associate Pastor, officiating and assisted by Rev. Eric Colley, Minister of Youth and Education.

    Interment will be in Hopeful Cemetery, Columbia County, Fla.

    Visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Saturday, Jan. 29, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 4309 South First Street, Lake City, Fla.

    Elton married Lucille E. Juracek on 11 Dec 1942. Lucille (daughter of Anton Thomas Juracek and Stephanie Marshall) was born on 18 Aug 1916 in Verdigre, Knox, Nebraska, USA; died on 25 Oct 2005 in North Florida Regional Hospital, Gainesville, Alachua, Florida, USA; was buried on 28 Oct 2005 in Hopeful Baptist Church Cemetery, Columbia, Florida, USA.     Mr. Dennis D. Dicks, age 74, of Lake City, Florida passed away after an extended illness of Friday, November 23, 2018.

    Dennis was born on May, 1944 in San Diego, Ca. to Elton W. Dicks (transplanted Lake City native and WW 2 war veteran) and Lucille Juracek Dicks. Dennis’s parents returned to north Florida at the close of the war, where he lived and until entering and then graduating from the University of Florida’s College of Engineering. Dennis applied his academic knowledge in service to the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. As a civilian, Dennis was employed by the City of Jacksonville as a Mechanical Engineer then later joined Paul Li Engineering, Jacksonville, Fla. until his retirement in 2017.

    Dennis is survived by his brother, Galen, sister in law, Joan, and their children, Evelyn and Sara Dicks.

    Services for Dennis are to be held under the direction of Guerry Funeral Home, U.S. 41, Lake City on Tuesday, November 27, with a visitation/viewing at 10:00 A.M. and onsite memorial service at 11 A.M., Rev. J. Scott Creel officiating.

    A procession to Hopeful Baptist Church will follow, where Dennis will be interned adjacent to his parents.

    Family and friends are invited to commune after services and internment at the family farm in Ellisville.
