    Deceased Name: Goley Ruffin Caison

    SUPPLY - Goley "Goose" Ruffin Caison, 76, died Wednesday, June 19, 2002, in the Autumn Care of Shallotte.

    Mr. Caison was born on November 13, 1925, in Brunswick County. He is the son of the late James C. and Ethel Cheers Caison. He was retired from the Norfolk Dredging Company as a crew boat captain. He was a veteran of the U.S. Merchant Marine. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva White Caison, brother, Rudolph Caison, and son, John White.

    Mr. Caison is survived by three sisters; Beatrice Ludlum, Mary Jane Hewett, and Nancy Norton Smith; four brothers, Edgar Caison, James Caison, Tom Caison, all of Supply, NC, and Linsey Caison, Denton, NC, six sons, William White, Myrtle Beach, SC, Kenneth White, Michael White, Benny White, Rev. Landis White, all of Ash, NC, and Rev. Jerry White, Winnabow, NC; two daughters, Martha Jones, Ash, NC, and Margie Danford, Greensboro, NC; numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 22nd in the Sabbath Home Baptist Church by the Rev. Rory Thigpen. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

    Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, June 21st at the funeral home.

    Mr. Edgar Lee Caison Sr. age 89 of Supply died Tuesday February 26, 2013 at SECU Hospice House in Bolivia.

    Mr. Caison was born in Brunswick County on August 24, 1923 and was the son of the late James and Ethel Cheers Caison. He was preceded in death by his wife Letha Robinson Caison, his son, Edgar Lee Caison Jr., grandson, Timothy Caison, two brothers, Goley Caison and Rudolph Caison, a sister, Beatrice Caison Ludlum. He was Tug Boat Captain with International Paper Company for many years.

    He is survived by three brothers, James E. Caison of Supply, Thomas Caison of Shallotte, Linsey Caison of Denton, NC; a sister, Mary Jane Caison Hewett of Supply; numerous nieces and nephews.

    Funeral services will be held Friday March 1, 2013 at 2pm at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Gerald Kirby and Reverend Tuddie Dixon officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

    Pallbearers will be, Jeffrey Caison, Dewayne Varnam, Danny Fulford, Larry DeStefano Jr., John Perry Robinson, Phillip Robinson.

    The family will receive friends at Oak Grove Baptist Church on Friday one hour prior to the service.

    SUPPLY - James Elbert Caison, 86, of Supply, died Sept. 11, 2016.

    He was born in Brunswick County on April 2, 1930, a son of the late James C. Caison and Ethel Cheers Caison. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pearline Caison; brothers, Rudolph, Goley, Edgar and Tom Caison; and sister, Beatrice Ludlum. He was member of Sabbath Home Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He owned and operated Caison’s Superette.

    Surviving are his sons, Glenn Caison of Supply and James L. Caison (Liz) of Capon Bridge, West ,Virginia; brother, Linsey Caison (Louella) of Denton, North Carolina; sister, Mary Jane Hewett (Burton) of Supply; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

    Final rites will be from the graveside in Sabbath Home Cemetery at 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 16, 2016. The family will receive friends from the home of Burton and Mary Jane Hewett.

    Linsey Harrel Caison, 84, of Randolph County, Denton, NC died at his home, September 16, 2023.

    He was born April 3, 1939 in Brunswick County, NC to the late James C. Caison and Ethel Cheers Caison. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Rudolph, Goley, Edgar, Tom and James, sister Beatrice Ludlum, and daughter Tammy Caison.

    Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Louella Loflin Caison, sister, Mary Jane Hewett (Burton) of Supply, NC, his son, Jeffery (Dana) Caison of Randolph County, grand-daughter Alexandria Lynne Caison, and several nieces and nephews.

    Linsey was a twenty year veteran of the U.S.Army, receiving the Bronze Star and Gallantry Cross while serving in Vietnam from 1965-1966. He also served in Western Europe, Central America, the South Pacific, other posts in southeast Asia, various stateside posts and the Army's nuclear program in Antarctica.

    In retirement, Linsey was self-employed, and occupied his time fixing whatever needed fixing and building whatever needed building, including over 50 wood block quilts for the Randolph Quilter's Guild, that he assisted Louella in painting, and hung throughout Randolph County.

    A Graveside Service will be held at Mountain View Memorial Gardens, Denton, NC on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Scott Davis officiating. Mr. Caison will lie in state on Tuesday from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton.

    SUPPLY, NC -- Mrs. Ethel Beatrice Ludlum, 68, of Holden Beach Road, died Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at her residence.

    She was born in Brunswick County, NC, on March 10, 1941, to the late James Kliney and Ethel Irene Cheers Caison. Mrs. Ludlum was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed. She loved gardening, and would often be missed if she was not in her yard or garden watering and tending to her plants; she also loved to watch her birds around her home. Recently Mrs. Ludlum attended Holy Light Pentecostal Church where her son Andy is pastor.

    The family would like to thank Lower Cape Fear Hospice and especially nurse Rebecca Green and all of the CNA's who attended to Mrs. Ludlum.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Hurtis Alex Ludlum in 1986 and her two brothers, Goley and Rudolph Caison.

    Survivors include three sons, Reverend Andy Ludlum and wife Demona of Supply, Hurtis Kliney Ludlum of Polkton, NC, Dexter N. Ludlum of Supply; a daughter, Crystal "Missy" Ludlum of Supply; four brothers, Edgar Caison, Sr., James E. Caison of Supply, Tom Caison of Shallotte, NC, Lindsey Caison and wife Lou Ellen of Denton, NC; a sister, Mary Jane Hewett and husband Burton of Supply; three grandchildren, Nicholas Ludlum and wife Rebecca, Brandon Ludlum, Katelyn Ludlum; one great grandchild, Ally Ludlum and a special friend, Donna Newton.

    Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 10, 2009, in the Union Chapel Pentecostal Church with The Reverend Kenny Powell and The Reverend Michael Jacobs officiating. Interment will follow in the Sabbath Home Baptist Church Cemetery.

    The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM, at Brunswick Funeral Service & Crematory, Shallotte, NC.
