Mr. Hubert Malcom “ Joe” Hodges, age 84, of Bryceville, Fla. died Sunday, Jan. 18, in the Life Care Center, Hilliard, Fla. following a long illness.
Mr. Hodges was a native of St. George, Ga. and had resided in Bryceville, Fla. for the past 40 years. He was the son of the late Grover C. and Victoria Crawford Hodges and the widower of the late Edna Willie Houston Hodges.. He worked as a heavy equipment operator with Container Corp. of America for many years and was a member of the Bryceville Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Wayne R. (Ann) Hodges of Bryceville, Fla., Troy Hodges of Callahan, Fla. and John H. Hodges of Big Piney, Wyoming; his daughter, Trudy R. Hodges of Ohio; three sisters, Fronia Thaxton of Griffin, Ga., Myrtle Clary of Crystal Lake, Fla. and Lila W. Roberson of Middleburg, Fla.; one brother, Houston W. Hodges of St. George, Ga.; twelve grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Wed nesday, Jan. 21, in the Bryceville Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Fish, Pastor, officiating and assisted by Rev. Joey Roundtree, Pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Church.
Interment will be in Emmus Cemetery, St. George, Ga. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 P.M. Tuesday, Jan. 20, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, U. S. 90 East, Macclenny, Fla.

Graveside services for Houston Warren Hodges (92) of St. George, Georgia will be held 12 pm, Saturday November 29, 2014 in Emmaus Cemetery with military honors.
The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service.
Houston was born on December 8, 1921 in St. George, Georgia, son of the late Grover Cleveland Hodges and the former Victoria Crawford.
He passed away on November 23, 2014 in Lake City, Florida.
Mr. Hodges served in the U.S. ARMY during WWII. He enjoyed traveling the U.S., square dancing, golf and working in his garden. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World.
In addition to his wife of 9 years, Linnie Juanita Spurgeon, survivors include: daughter, Claudette Ketcham; eight grandchildren, Steve (Angela), Tracy, Michael, Amy (Matt), Austin (Michael), Corey, Anna (Kyle) and Adam (Jordann); twelve great grandchildren, Savannah, Lily Anne, Amelia, Liam, Aiden, Kieran, Finn, Axel, Dew, Abby, Tom and Jack; numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by: wife, Katherine O’Toole Hodges; two daughters, Loretta Renshaw and Sandra Beaver.
Those honored as pallbearers include: Steve Beaver, Michael Beaver, Austin Ketcham, Corey Matthews, Adam Ketcham, James Taylor, Matt Petrousky and Kyle Anderson. Honorary pallbearers include: Calvin Beaver, Art Renshaw, Walter Ketcham and Vernon Conner.

Ms. Wilma Roberson, age 92, of Maxville, FL passed away Saturday, August 24 in the Franks Wells Nursing Home, Macclenny, FL after a prolonged illness.
Ms. Roberson was born in St. George, GA to the late Grover and Victoria Crawford Hodges and married the love of her life, John O. Roberson, on June 23, 1944.
She worked as a school bus driver for the Duval County Public School System for many years until her retirement. Ms. Roberson was a member of the First Coast Baptist Church, Jacksonville, FL and loved her Sunday school class, The Pace Setters. She loved to travel with the Pace Setters, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Ms. Roberson also liked to play Dominos and card games, which she did once a week with her daughters and other family memebers.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her late husband, three brothers and three sisters.
Ms. Roberson is survived by one son, Larry O. Roberson (Dorthy) of Jacksonville, FL: two daughters, Cynthia Joos (George) of Maxville, FL and Joe Ann Roberts (Don) of Maxville, FL: one sister, Myrtle Clary of Keystone, FL. Five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and three great -great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services to honor the life of Ms. Roberson will be held at 11 A.M., Thursday, August 29 in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Dr. Rick Crews officiating.
Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 10 to 11 A.M. ( one hour before services).
Interment will follow the funeral services in Emmaus Cemetery, St. George, GA.

Alec Dwain Hodges, age 81 of St. George, Georgia, passed away peacefully, with his children by his side, on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Baptist Hospital Hospice Care.
Dwain was born in St. George, Georgia to the late Alec E. and Dorothy L. Hodges.
He retired from Maxwell House Coffee Company after thirty-three years as a machine operator. He enjoyed fishing, trips to the Great Smoky Mountains, and was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan.
He is survived by his children: Pamela (Gary) Wilson of Bryceville, Mark (Michele) Wells and Melissa (Rodney) LePrell all of St. George; brothers: Danny (Muriel) Hodges of Raiford and Adrian Hodges of St. George; sisters: Connie Mae (Gene) Powell of St. George and Peggy (Donnie) Gay of Garfield, GA; ten grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife: Bonnie Lou Hodges; son: Darrell Dwain Hodges; daughter: Belinda Sue Sweat; sisters: G. Victoria Phillips and Iris Chesser; and his loving uncle: Oscar Leckie.
A celebration of his life will be held 11:00am, Saturday, May 1, 2021 at New Life Baptist Church, St. George, with Pastor James Conner officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Community Hospice of North Florida or New Life Baptist Church Building Fund.
