Deceased Name: JOEL N. GREENE
Mr. Joel N. Greene, 92, died Monday, Aug. 30, 1999 at his residence at Wynwood Assisted Living Center.
A memorial service for Mr. Greene will be held at a later date at The Advent Christian Village Retirement Center in Dowling Park, Fla.
Mr. Greene resided in Greensboro since April of 1997 after living most of his life in Gainesville, Fla.
Mr. Greene was a member of The First Presbyterian Church of Gainesville. He worked as an insurance underwriter for Life of Georgia for over 30 years. After his retirement, Mr. Greene spent a great deal of his time as a volunteer at the VA Hospital in Gainesville as well as several other retirement communities in North Central Florida.
Mr. Greene was preceded in death by his wives, Marion Hodges Greene in 1987, and Sue Cadden Greene in 1993. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Dr. Patricia Ellis Greene.
He is survived by two daughters, Theresa Ann Cox of Athens, Ga., and Janet G. Bailey and her husband, Allen of Greensboro; one brother, Franz Greene of Sanford, Fla.; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. today at Forbis & Dick Funeral Service North Elm Street Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dr. Patricia Greene Leadership Award of the Pediatric Oncology Nurses Foundation, care of Association of Pediatric Oncology Nurses National Office, 4700 West Lake Avenue, Glenview, Illinois 60025-1485.
Forbis and Dick Funeral Service is serving the family of Mr. Greene.

Franz Weston Greene of St. Matthews, S.C., died Tuesday at Lexington Medical Center in South Carolina. He was 91. Mr. Greene was born in Fort White. He split his time between his summer home in St. Matthews and his winter home in Fort White.
He retired from Adkins Manufacturing Co.
Survivors include his wife, Scottie Todd Hewitt Greene of St. Matthews; four daughters, Bonnie Croteau of West Palm Beach, Lana Angle of Gainesville, Eula Williamson of Elgin, S.C., and Annette Hewitt of Orlando; seven sons, Todd Hewitt of Orlando, Bill Hewitt of Cordova, S.C., Earl Hewitt of Cope, S.C., Mack Hewitt and Kermit Hewitt, both of St. Matthews, Johnny Hewitt of Eastover, S.C., and Terry Hewitt of Leesville, S.C.; 23 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Greene died Tuesday.
