CLINTON - Mrs. Hildred Virginia Crumpler Caison, 85, of Clinton, died Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, in the Select Specialty Hospital at Durham Regional Hospital in Durham, from complications related to pneumonia.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011, in Roseboro First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Roger White officiating. Burial will follow in Roseboro Cemetery.
Known as "Mimi" by her loving family, Mrs. Caison was born June 26, 1925, in Rocky Mount, to the late James Edwin and Mary Elizabeth Crumpler. She attended primary and secondary school in Roseboro and in Hillsborough County, Fla. She remained close to her high school classmates from Roseboro throughout her life. After she married the late J.P. Caison, on July 4, 1943, they became members of Roseboro First Baptist Church, where she remained active until the time of her death. Always energetic and gregarious, Mrs. Caison enjoyed the company of her many family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, J.P. Caison, formerly of Clinton; by a son, Michael "Mike" Price Caison, formerly of Clinton; and three brothers, Dr. Warren Harding Crumpler, Robert James Crumpler and Paul Clinon Crumpler, all formerly of Mount Olive.
She is survived by two daughters, Susan Sharp and husband David of Beaufort, S.C., and Bobbie Ann Gore and husband Jimmy of Cary; a son, Deems Caison and wife Nancy of Clinton; a sister, Anne Dewar of Mount Olive; four grandchildren, Mary Sharp of Beaufort, Kathy Sharp and husband Brian Hann of Camden, S.C., Warren Gore and wife Jenny of Cary, and Jacob Gore of Cary; four great-grandchildren, Spencer and Jacob Hann of Camden, and Leah and Tori Gore of Cary; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and loving friends.
The family will receive friends at a reception at First Baptist Church following the graveside services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Caison's name to Roseboro First Baptist Church, 3720 S. Salemburg Highway, Roseboro, NC 28382.
Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro St., Roseboro.

CLINTON -- Michael P. Caison, 48, of 607 Park Ave. died Monday in Sampson County Memorial Hospital.
He was a nurse for the southwood division at Mary Gran Nursing Home.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro by the Rev. Ashley Summerlin. Burial will be in Roseboro Cemetery.
Mr. Caison is survived by his wife, Cindy S. Caison of the home; two stepsons, Matthew Moye of the home and Chad Moye of Mount Olive; his parents, J.P. and Hildred Caison of Clinton; two sisters, Susan Sharp of Aiken, S.C., and Bobbie Gore of Clinton; and a brother, Deems Caison of Clinton.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home and other times at the home.
