    Services for the Rev. Ernest Wilkes will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Hart's Mortuary with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Wilkes died Monday, May 21, 2001, at his residence. He was a member of Southside Congregational Holiness Church. He was a member of Sunnyland Gospel Singers and had performed at the Grand Ole Opry. He worked at Bibb Radio and TV for 20 years and was a minister for 40 years. He was a member of the Amateur Ham Radio Club and was a volunteer at DFACS for two years.

    Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Allen Wilkes; children Erne\st D. Wilkes Jr. of Macon, Edward L. Wilkes of Richland and Watha Ellington of Milledgeville; sister and brother Mary Constantine of Destin, Fla., and Adolphus Wilkes of Charleston, S.C.; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

    The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight in the funeral home and may be contacted at 2021 Mar-Sha Drive.

Services will be held Thursday, May 24, 2001, at 2:00PM in the Chapel of Hart's Mortuary with Tommy Orr officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family may be contacted at 2021 Mar-Sha Drive. Visitation: Wednesday from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Hart's Mortuary. Mr. Wilkes was a member of Southside Congregational Holiness Church. Survivors: Wife, Carolyn Allen Wilkes of Macon; Sons, Ernest D. Wilkes, Jr. of Macon and Edward L. Wilkes of Richland, GA; Daughter, Watha Ellington of Milledgeville; Sister, Mary Constantine of Destin, FL; Brother, Adolphus Wilkes of Charleston, SC; 12 Grandchildren; 2 Great-grandchildren; Several nieces and nephews. Hart's Mortuary has charge of arrangements.
