    Died:
    Howard Kenneth O'Steen, Jr. "Ken", beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 2, 2016. Born on June 25, 1954 to parents, Howard and Grace O'Steen, Ken was a Christian believer and lived most of his life in Jacksonville, Florida. He was Chairman of the Landcom Company and developed many Marriott, Holiday Inn and Hilton hotels in Florida and throughout the Southeast. He loved to play golf, was a fierce competitor, an avid Gator fan and annually attended the Masters tournament in Augusta, Georgia. He also enjoyed listening to oldies music, working in the yard, reading and watching college football or golf tournaments.

    Ken is preceded in death by his mother, Grace. He is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Howard K. O'Steen III "Trey"; daughter, Cameron O'Steen; father, Howard K. O'Steen Sr.; brothers, Roger O'Steen (Betty Jean), Richard O'Steen (Elizabeth) and Tom O'Steen (Sarah); sister, Tricia Holmes (Lockwood); as well as many cousins, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and close friends who will all miss him dearly.

    A private service with family and Ken's friends was held on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 with interment in the O'Steen family section of Oaklawn Cemetery. Officiating the service was Ken's nephew, Austin Holmes, along with the Reverend Stanley Todd, and Jack Dinsbeer. Pallbearers included, John Cangemi, Scott Christy, Cleve Farnell, Paul Fulghum, Mark Johnson, Ron Johnson, Hal O'Steen and Scott Riley. Honorary Pallbearers included, Dana Bradford, Tom Boyd and Rocky Staples. Anyone wishing to honor Ken's life is encouraged to send donations to Mission of Hope, Haiti's "Grace House" established in honor of Ken's mother providing medical, spiritual and daily care to Haiti's most needy population (www.mohhaiti.org, PO Box 171500, Austin, TX, 78717).

    HARDAGE-GIDDENS, THE OAKLAWN CHAPEL, 4801 San Jose Blvd is serving the family.
