    Notes:

    Died:
Charles Marvin O'Cain Sr., age 76, of Jasper, FL. passed away on January 14, 2021 at Lake City Medical Center in Lake City, FL. following a brief illness.

Charles was born at home on April 15, 1944 to the late William Marvin O'Cain and Mary Edith O'Cain.

To hear Charles' side of the story he was born to the sound of angel’s trumpets announcing his arrival. If you knew Charles this would come as no surprise. He lived in Jasper all of his life, graduating from Jasper High School. He chose education as a career and spent the better part of 31 years enriching the lives of middle school age children teaching primarily geography and art.

His sense of humor was one to be reckoned with and he clearly passed that on to his own three sons that he shared with the love of his life Carole Montfort O'Cain. The two married in June of 1970 and celebrated 50 years of marriage this past June.

His hobbies included riding his bike and he could be found many afternoons out as far as Woodpecker Route or well beyond Hebron Church to the Georgia line. Charles also enjoyed researching and sharing family history with his relatives and there were many. He was a dedicated son to his parents and attentive brother to his two sisters. Charles was a perfectionist and it was evident in his yardwork. He could be found sitting in the yard tending to the many flowers he had planted and could name each one and its variety as well as its anticipated life span. He always had one blooming just as one would be fading away. Charles was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Jasper. He took care of the grounds and facilities for many years. His enthusiasm for life will absolutely be sorely missed in the community.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Lou White.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Carole Monfort O'Cain of Jasper; three sons, Charles Marvin O'Cain, Jr. (Amy), Warner Robins, GA., Woodrow Monfort O'Cain (Stephenie), Fleming Island, FL. and Jim Cassin O'Cain (Ashley), Jasper, FL.; one sister, Delores O'Cain Tyre, Live Oak, FL.; seven grandchildren, Caroline, Emma, Alexandra, Aidan, Ashley (Tim), Cameron and Collin.

Graveside services were held on Monday, January 18, 2021 at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper with Pastor Missy Turbeville officiating.
