He was born in Lake City, Florida on July 1, 1940 to the late William Morgan Crews and Florence Stalvey Crews. Jackie was raised in Lake City and graduated from Columbia County High School in 1958. Shortly after graduation, he met the love of his life, Mary Aline Wood, while visiting his brother in Georgia. Jackie and Aline connected immediately and they were happily married on October 11, 1964.

Jackie was a devoted husband, loving father and papa. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed helping to raise his children along with his special brother-in-laws, John and Frank Wood.

Jackie was drafted in the United States Army and served 2 years during the Vietnam War. He was truly passionate about his longtime career as a Truck Driver and fulfilled his passion by working for various companies over those 50 years, but the majority of his driving was for AAA Cooper and Winn-Dixie in Jacksonville, FL. When Jackie wasn’t working or tending to his family, he enjoyed gardening and wood working. He had a God given talent with wood working and used it through his carpentry skills. Jackie loved building and helping others with his talents.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Paul and Cotton Crews; his daughter, Paula Crews; and his sister-in-law, Louise Crews. Cotton and Louise were very special to Jackie as they helped to raise him after his mother passed away at five years old.

Jackie is survived by his loving wife of 52 years who he called “Honey”, Aline Wood of Lake City, FL; his sons, Roy “Tommy” Crews, Tad (Marian) Crews, and Jamey (Dana) Crews all of Starke, FL; his brother, Vernon Crews of Lake City, FL; his sisters, Louise (Ivan) Clements and Barbara (Doc) O’Steen both of Lake City, FL; his grandchildren, Scott, Ashlyn, Christopher (Jennifer), Brandon (Holly), Brittany, and Hannah Crews; his great grandchildren, Maddison, C.J., and Levi Crews; and his special brother-in-laws whom he helped to raise, John (Eloise) Wood of Lawtey, FL and Frank Wood of Starke, FL.
