Florene Yarborough Craft, 82, of New Braunfels, Texas died Sunday, June 10, 2018, at Methodist Medical Center Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.
There will be a visitation at Zoeller Funeral Home, 615 Landa St., New Braunfels, Texas, Wednesday June 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Oakwood Baptist Church, 2154 Loop 337, New Braunfels, Texas, Thursday, June 21, at 11 a.m. Burial service will follow at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery in San Antonio at 1:15 p.m. Following the burial service, there will be a reception at Oakwood Baptist Church at 4 p.m.
Florene was born in Raeford to the late Loney William and Viola Wright Yarborough and moved to Pinehurst at a very early age, where she lived and attended school, graduating from Pinehurst High School after 12 years without missing a day. Later that year she married Robert E Craft on Nov. 21, 1954.
True to her name, Florene means "Flowering in bloom." She lived, by one of the greatest Biblical principles: Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friend." John 15:13.
In addition to her parents, Florene was preceded in death by her brother, William H. (Buddy) Yarborough, formerly of Maxton, and brother-in-law, Tommy Prickett.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert E Craft; children, David Jefferson Craft and wife Maggie, of Carthage, Robert W. "Bobby" and wife, Molly Craft, of New Braunfels, Texas, Cynthia Lynn "Cindy" Craft, of New Braunfels, Texas; sisters, Jean Yarborough Prickett, of Carthage, Barbara Cortez Southers and husband, Richard Southers, of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren Nicole Craft, Danielle and husband, Cody Bass, of New Braunfels, Texas, Katherine "Katy" Craft, of Kentucky; great-grandchildren, Emmalee Wetz, Cooper Bass and Jasper Dyal, all of New Braunfels, Texas.
She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Florene, your work here on earth was well done. May you rest in peace now in the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ.

William Hardy “Buddy” Yarborough, age 80 of Maxton died Saturday, December 9, 2017 at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Maxton of which he was a long time member. Burial with military honors provided by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #990 will be at Williford Cemetery in Dunn at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends prior to the service in the church beginning at 10:00.
A native of Hoke County he was a son of the late Loney William and Frances Viola Wright Yarborough. Buddy was a US Army veteran where he served in the Medical Corp from 1961-1963. In 1961 he married Sonja Lee Williford and together they enjoyed over 53 years of marriage until her death in 2014. Buddy was a graduate of UNC School of Pharmacy and went to work with Austin Gilbert Drug Company in Maxton in 1963. In 1982 he bought the business and continued to operate it until his retirement.
He created Maxton Medical Services a Primary Care Medical Facility in 1975 and served as President and Administrator until 1985. Buddy was a retired volunteer fireman and served as commander of the Maxton Rescue Squad for 17 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by sisters Florene Y. Craft and husband Bobby of New Braunfels, TX, Jean Y. Prickett of Carthage and Barbara Y. Southers and husband Richard of San Antonio, TX; brothers-in-law Donnie Williford and wife Mary Lou of Clayton, Jerry Williford of FL; several nieces nephews and cousins. Buddy was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law Tommy Prickett.
