    CALHOUN - Chester A. "Chief" McKenzie, 88, of 6260 Kentucky 256, Calhoun, died Friday, May 3, 2013, at his home. Chester was born Aug. 2, 1924, in Okeechobee County, Fla., to the late James A. and Fern A. Rich McKenzie and married the former Lula Ann James, who preceded him in death July 5, 1997. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Chester was a Christian, a Kentucky Colonel, a member of Vienna Lodge 423 F&AM and a retired electrician from IBEW 1701. He enjoyed eating at Cracker Barrel, making homemade wine and working around the house.

    Survivors include two daughters, Sadye Austin and Sarah Jane McKenzie, both of Calhoun; five grandchildren, Sheryl and Scott Hahn, Rod and Candy Austin, Don and Candace Austin, Debra and Glenn Simpson and Angela Austin; seven great-grandchildren, Sam Hahn, Robert Hahn, Seth Hahn, Brainna and Michael Drake, Garrett Hudson, Allison Austin and Elijah Ray Austin; and two great-great-grandchildren.

    Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Muster Funeral Homes Calhoun Chapel with Jimmy O'Neal officiating. Burial will be in Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County with military honors presented by McLean County VFW Memorial Post 5415. Friends may visit with Chester's family from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday at Musters, Calhoun, where a Masonic service will be at 6 p.m. Sunday conducted by Vienna Lodge 432 F&AM.
