    Betty Elizabeth "Betty" Phillips was born November 7, 1925 in Laurens County, Georgia to Sarah and Georgia W. Wilkes. Betty graduated from McRae High School and later from Georgia College in Millegeville. She retired from Robins AFB in Warner Robins, Georgia after 38 years of service. Betty moved to Atlanta in 1997 and enjoyed reading, traveling and being with family. She was a person who cared about others and she demonstrated this on a daily basis with her love and compassion service.

    Betty is survived by her sons, Bernard John Maloney and wife Sandra, David Wilkes Maloney and wife Theresa and daughter Susan Maloney Muha of Dallas, Texas grandchildren, Heather Robertson and her husband Edward Robertson and Shannon Maloney; and great-grandchildren, James and Sean Robertson. She is survived by sisters, Corene Walton of Warner Robins, Evelyn English of Decatur, Sally Shurman and her husband, Jack of Baxley and Virginia Heilcher of Dallas, Texas; as well as many nieces and nephews.

    A Joint Memorial service for Betty, who died on December 30 and her sister, Irene Scales, who died December 25, will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 4, at Stone Mountain Chapel in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Dr. Janice Hume will officiate.Wages & Sons
