    Arnold Lee Caison, 82, of Wallace, NC died Thursday, December 22, 2016, after a long illness. Arnold was born October 4, 1932 in Watha, NC, the son of the late Archie and Agnes Caison.

    Arnold was preceded in death by Trudi, his wife of 50 years, his parents, his brother Allen and his wife Nadia, his sister Alice Phelps and her husband Dan Phelps, his brothers-in-law James Williamson and Linwood Howard, his sister-in-law Rachel Caison, and his daughter-in-law Mari Carmen Ortiz. He is survived by his sisters Annette Williamson and Faye Howard of Wilmington, NC and his brother Ray Caison and wife Alice of Burgaw, NC. Also surviving are his sons and daughters - his son Brent and his wife Lena of Chapel Hill, NC, his son Glen of Alcala de Henares, Spain, his daughter Angela Kirby and her husband Eddie of Chapel Hill, NC, and his daughter Linda Wallace and her husband Cal of Chapel Hill, NC. He is survived by seven grandchildren - Melody and Alex Ortiz, Ashleigh and Emma Caison, Ben and Celeste Kirby, and Bridget Wallace.

    Arnold was a teacher in the Pender County school system for thirty years. In addition to his career as an English teacher, a shop teacher, and a vocational specialist, he was an Army soldier, railroad employee, carpenter, roofer, cabinet maker, wood craftsman, house builder, installer of all things, dulcimer maker, boat repairer, part-time Santa, EMT volunteer, gardener, farmer, coin collector, genealogy expert, photographer, expert puzzle-solver, automotive expert, pun-creator, and cook. He instilled in his family his belief that it’s always better to be kind.

    Memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at United Christian Fellowship Church with Pastor Edward Dowd officiating.

    Deceased Name: Alice Caison Phelps

    Alice Caison Phelps, Alice Caison Phelps of Wilmington, NC, died Thursday, June 27, 2002, at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center.

    She was born April 9, 1933, in Pender County, NC, daughter of the late Archie L. and Agnes Blake Caison.

    Mrs. Phelps was a member of United Advent Christian Church where she was currently serving as the secretary and treasurer for the Sunday School. She also served as the church treasurer for many years, was a former president of the WHFMS, and was a Sunday School teacher.

    Mrs. Phelps retired from Bank of America following 44 years of service.

    Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Dan Phelps of the home; two children, Danny Phelps and wife Cheryl of Columbia, SC, and Kim Blackmon and husband Wayne of Wilmington, NC; three grandchildren, Brandon Blackmon, Aaron Blackmon and Chandler Phelps; four brothers and sisters, Arnold Caison of Wallace, NC, Annette Williamson of Burgaw, NC, Faye Howard of Wilmington, NC, and Ray Caison of Burgaw, NC.

    Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 1, 2002, at United Advent Christian Church by Rev. Adrian Shepard.

    Interment will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens.

    The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel.

    WILMINGTON - Annette Caison Williamson, 81, passed away Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice after a brief illness. She was born Aug. 6, 1938, in Pender County to Archie Lee and Agnes (Blake) Caison. She resided in New Hanover County.

    She attended Miller-Motte Business College and was employed with the State of North Carolina. Most recently, she worked part time for her church, United Advent Christian Church.

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James T. Williamson Jr.; brothers, Charles Allen Caison and Arnold Lee Caison; and one sister, Alice Caison Phelps.

    Survivors include her sister, Faye C. Howard; brother, Ray Caison (Alice); several nieces and nephews; great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

    A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 22, with visitation one hour prior to services at United Advent Christian Church, 4912 South College Road, Wilmington. Burial will follow services in Blakes Chapel Advent Christian Church Cemetery, 88 Blakes Chapel Road, Pender County, NC 28443.

    In lieu of flowers, donations in Annette’s memory may be made to United Advent Christian Church.

    Albert Ray Caison, 77, of Burgaw passed from his earthly life Thursday, December 23, 2021 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

    He was born February 17, 1944, one of six children born to Archie Lee Caison and Agnes Earl Blake Caison. Also preceding Ray in death was his wife, Rachel Hunt Caison; and daughter, Teresa Eakins.

    Ray is survived by his devoted wife of seven years, Alice Caison; children, Terry Pigford (Bryan), Ted Crews, Faith Perez (Martin), and Kimberly Harrell (Rob); son-in-law, Mike Eakins; twelve grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; many extended family and friends.

    Recently Ray and Alice attended Long Creek Baptist Church. For a number of years Ray served in the US Army Reserves.

    Ray was a kind, helpful, and giving man who loved his family with all his heart. He was a craftsman by trade and could fix most anything. He leaves legacy of the importance of God, Family and Country.

    A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Long Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Brad Thurston conducting the service. Burial will follow in Atkinson Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the committal service.
