    Lula Lois Green Batchelor, 92 , of Neptune Beach passed away July 3, 2007.

    Lois was born December 3, 1913 in Lake City, Florida. She was the daughter of Charlie L. Green and Ruth Evans Green.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie D. Batchelor.

    Lois was a business women - having been an owner of a beauty salon in the Mayflower Hotel and another salon location on Beach Blvd. She was also co-owner of Batchelor's Texaco on Edgewood Avenue. Ms. Batchelor was a member of Eastern Star - Ribault Chapter and the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville.

    Ms. Batchelor is survived by 3 sisters: Ms. Irma Lee Oneal - Ocala, FL; Ms. Sevena Baum - Neptune Beach, FL and Ms. Doris Moore - Live Oak, FL. As well as numerous nephews and nieces.

    She is predeceased by 3 brothers: Lyman Green, Hilliard Green and George Green and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

    Lois was a beautiful, high spirited women, who enjoyed life and all the challenges life brought. She was kind and giving, often taking into her home those who needed help. She will be missed by her family, but will she will live on every time we remember one of her many favorite sayings. She was one of a kind and not easily forgotten.

    Funeral services will be held July 7, 2007, at 10:00 AM at the chapel at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach, FL; Pastor Gary Elliott presiding. Lois will then be interred beside her husband at Greenlawn Cemetery, Jacksonville, FL.

    Charles Lyman Green, Sr. 70, Macclenny, died Wednesday, October 2, 1985 at University Hospital, Jacksonville, after a short illness.

    The Columbia County native was a longtime resident of Lake Butler, where he owned and operated Green's Barbecue Restaurant for 30 years. He moved to Macclenny four years ago and operated Green's restaurant in Macclenny. Mr. Green was a member of the First Christian Church of Lake Butler.

    Survivors include his daughter, Ruth Lobby of Macclenny, five sons, Charles L. Green, Jr. of Lake Butler, A.C. Green of Ellisville, Bill Roberts of Greenville, Eddie Roberts of Palatka and Dennis Roberts of Lake City, a brother, George of Lake City; four sisters, Lois Batchelor of Jacksonville Beach, Irma Lee O'Neal of Ocala, Sevena Baum of Jacksonville Beach, and Doris Moore of Live Oak. Eleven grandchildren also survive.

    Sevena Green Baum, 99, went to be with the LORD on Thursday, December 16th, 2021.

    Sevena was born November 1, 1922, to Charles & Ruth (Evans) Green in Lake City, Florida. She was one of eight children - all predeceasing her with the exception of her beloved younger sister Doris Moore.

    Sevena was known for her kindness and generosity in both time and money. She spent a number of years as the Director of the Alter Guild at St Paul's by the Sea Episcopal Church, where she attended Church since 1963. She also enjoyed reading, traveling, cooking, sewing, shopping and needlework, but mostly she enjoyed family - being a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She had a great sense of humor, a quick wit and a playful spirit which brought laughter to every family gathering. She was always optimistic and cheerful. Every day - even to 99, she dressed up to face the day with style - hair, wardrobe, makeup & jewelry.

    Sevena was married to the love of her life, John Baum for nearly 50 years. Together they had 3 children Jacalyn Skeels, John Jr, (Debra) & Victoria Bloodworth (Thomas), who joined the couples' older children, Dennis Callahan (Nancy) & Tamara Baum Flory (Larry). Sevena loved her grandchildren dearly and always enjoyed being a part of their lives. Her grandchildren are Rebecca Callahan, Cynthia Flory, Cassandra Melvin (Joel), Anastacia Williams (Charles), Thomas Bloodworth Jr (Lindsey), John Bloodworth (Haley), Sevena Skeels-Manning (Thomas), Eric Bloodworth (Zoe), and Great grandchildren Wednesday Circle, Parker Bloodworth, Harper Bloodworth & Sloane Bloodworth. She leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her.

    The family will gather on December 22, 2021, for a private graveside service at H. Warren Smith Cemetery with Pastor Greg Harlow of Family Bible Church officiating. A Memorial Service at St Pauls By The Sea Episcopal Church, Jacksonville Beach is to be scheduled in January. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to First Coast Women's Services. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville Beach, FL.

    George L. Green, 65, of Lake City passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at the Suwannee Valley Care Center (Haven Hospice).

    He was born in Columbia County to Febbie D. Green and the late George Z. Green. He graduated from Columbia County High School, Class of 1966 and in 1967 he joined the United States Air Force, he trained in Biloxi, Mississippi, and then married his high school sweetheart, Melanie [Germany] Green in June of 1968. They started on an adventure of life together in Tachikawa, AFB, Japan. At most of the bases he was stationed at, he gained a reputation for being able to cook an outstanding slab of ribs and top them off with his special Bar BQ sauce. He went on to retire from the Air Force as a SMSGT Air Traffic Controller and afterwards he retired from the Department of Corrections after working there for 15 years. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed fishing, building things, and family togetherness so he could put his cooking talents to work. He was a very driven person, when he wanted to create something unique to eat or a special piece of furniture. He strived to do his best in all things and was loved and respected for it, by his family and friends.

    Survivors include his devoted wife of 45 years, Melanie Green, his two sons, that he was especially proud of and loved dearly, Travis D. Green of Lake City, FL, & Dustin G. (Jennifer) Green of Jacksonville, FL; a proud grandpa of Xoe Rain Green and dear brother to his sister, Linda F. Green of Lake City, FL. and his devoted Dachshunds, Max and Simon.

    Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 27, 2013 in the chapel of Gateway Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Arthur Peterson officiating.

    In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations in his memory be made to the Suwannee Valley Care Center (Haven Hospice) at 6037 U.S. Hwy 90 West, Lake City, FL 32055.
