Services for Julian Morris Savelle, 84, of Chula, are at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 5, 2008, at Ochlocknee Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. The Rev. David Smith and the Rev. Dennis Norman will officiate and interment is in Ochlocknee City Cemetery.
Mr. Savelle died June 2, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton.
Born Aug. 10, 1923, in Terrell County, he was the son of the late Jesse Aberfoil Savelle and Elizabeth Rozella Culpepper Savelle.
On April 7, 1956, he married Elizabeth Wilkes Savelle, who survives. He was a World War II Army veteran, a member of the American Legion, a farmer and retired from the United States Postal Service in Ochlocknee after 28 years of civil service.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Amy Savelle of Watkinsville; daughter and son-in-law, Deena and David Hood of Chula; grandchildren, Heather, Anna and Patrick Savelle of Watkinsville, Tyler, Katelyn and Kelsey Hood of Chula; a brother, Jesse Savelle of Boise, Idaho; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the service at the church.
