DICKS, FREEMAN, 81, of St. Petersburg, died Tuesday (Sept. 27, 1988) at his residence . He was born in Columbia County and came to St. Petersburg in 1952 from Lake City. He retired after 17 years with the maintenance department of the city of St. Petersburg. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army and the Canadian Army. He was a member of Pinellas Park Post 144, Canadian Legion. Survivors include his wife, Opal; a stepson, William P. Young, Hernando; a stepdaughter, Alice Nichols, Largo; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. National Cremation Society, St. Petersburg.
