Mr. Roderick D. Wilkes, age 89 of Jasper, Ga., passed away Friday, April 27, 2007 at Grandview Health Care Center following an extended illness.
Mr. Wilkes was born Oct. 19, 1917 in Toombs County, Ga. He had worked with the State Health Department for the State of Nevada and was a veteran having served in the US Coast Guard.
Survivors include his nephews, Rod Wilkes, Jasper, and James Edmond Wilkes, Jr., Marietta, Ga.
By his request, Mr. Wilkes was cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Roper Funeral Home of Jasper in charge of arrangements.
