    Obituary for John Robert Boyle

    Mr. John Robert Boyle, 76 of Hamlet, NC was reunited with the love of his life, Mary Sue Holley Boyle, on February 1, 2008. He passed away at his home on Boyd Lake Road in Hamlet. He was born in Wagram, NC on February 19, 1931 the son of the late John A. and Stella White Boyle. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry and Daniel Boyle.

    He is survived by his son; John Robert Boyle II and wife Deanna of Charlotte, his daughter; Rebecca Sue Boyle and life partner Rebecca Lenee Bradley of Rockingham, three grandchildren; Abbie Dawn Boyle, Brittany Michelle Boyle, and John Robert Boyle III all of Charlotte, his sister; Nellie Boyle Lisk of Hamlet, and his brother; Barney Boyle of Aurora, Colorado.

    He retired from the United States Air Force in 1971 after twenty two years of dedicated service. He was an active member of the Disabled American Veterans of Hamlet, NC and loyally served in various positions during this time. He volunteered countless hours transporting his fellow veterans to and from various appointments. Robert was very active in the Woodmen of the World fraternity. He was an active member in his community and never met a stranger. Anyone that knew him knew that fishing was his life long hobby.

    The family will receive friends and loved ones at Watson-King Funeral Home in Hamlet, Tuesday, February 5, 2008 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The service celebrating his life will be held at Marks Creek Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at 11:00 am with the Rev. Ken Goins and Rev. Burke York officiating. Burial will follow at Marks Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

    In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, Hamlet Chapter, P.O. Box 607, Hamlet, NC 28345 in his honor.

    Mr. Boyle, 43, of Charlotte, NC died Monday, January 19, 2009 at Presbyterian Hospital, Matthews.

    His family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 22 at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel.

    Born May 27, 1965 in Limestone, ME, John was the son of the late John Robert Boyle and Mary Sue Holley Boyle.

    He served in the US Army from 1983 until 1989. He was Co-Owner of Boyle Communications. John has lived in Charlotte since 1989 and was very involved in his children's lives.

    He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Deanna Boyle; three children, Abbie Dawn Boyle, Brittany Michelle Boyle and John Robert Boyle, III; his sister, Rebecca Sue Boyle and her life partner, Rebecca Lenee Bradley, of Rockingham; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins in Hamlet, NC. He is also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Delores and Harold Manning, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Melissa and Bruce Horton, and two brothers-in-law, Robbie Skipper and Brian Rice, all of Missouri.

    Deanna and her family wish to thank their special, lifelong friends, Richard and Donna Brackman of Rockwell, NC, and the employees of Boyle Communications for their love and support during this difficult time.
