    Malcolm M. Wilks, 84, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Clarice Scarbrough Wilks. The service will be at 11 a.m. EST Thursday at New Hope Baptist Church, with burial at the church cemetery.

    Family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. EST today at Beggs Funeral Home Apalachee Parkway Chapel (942-2929). Memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32308, or to New Hope Baptist Church, New Hope Church Road, Tallahassee, FL 32305.

    Born in Washington County on Jan. 19, 1918, he had resided in Tallahassee for the past 62 years. He worked as a carpenter for several local contractors and then, after the Vietnam War, he and his son established M.M. Wilks and Son Builders. They specialized in the restoration of Historical Homes and Buildings in Tallahassee and the surrounding areas

    He was a very active member of New Hope Baptist Church and was a member of the Florida Big Bend Unit WBCCI Camping Club. Other survivors include a son, Myron Wilks (and wife Janice) of Tallahassee; a daughter, Dianne Wilks Gregg (and husband Robert) of Tallahassee; four sisters, Viola Wilks of Bonifay, Hazel Watts and Annie Hutchins, both of Niceville, and Bonnie Aukema of Chipley; a grandson, Alan Sellars of Tallahassee; a granddaughter, Kim Tucker (and husband Delwyn) of Crawfordville; three great-granddaughters, Locklyn Tucker, Blair Tucker and Tatum Tucker, all of Crawfordville; and several nieces and nephews.
