    Rosette Waldron Keen, 99, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening May 7, 2015 at the Health Center of Lake City after an extended illness.

    She was born in Columbia County on February 22, 1916 to the late Gilford Waldron and Viola Crews Waldron. She has been a lifelong resident of Lake City and was a homemaker. She loved to cook and go fishing; she was also known to always have an open home to anyone. She was a member of Christ Central Ministries here in Lake City. She is preceded in death by her loving husband: Byron Keen and a grandson: Criss Keen.

    She is survived by her sons: Edward Keen; Wayne (Sandra) Keen, and Shelton Keen all of Lake City; daughters: Dorothy Christie, Byronelle Witt and Voncile (Morrison) Hale all of Lake City; sister: Jewel Silcox of Jacksonville; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren also survive.

    Funeral services for Mrs. Keen will be conducted on Wednesday May 13, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Christ Central Ministries Church with Pastor Lonnie Johns officiating. Visitation with the family will be held Tuesday evening from 5P.M. until 7P.M. at Christ Central Ministries Church. Interment will follow at Scott Cemetery.     Eva Diane Hill Winkleman, 65, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, October 15, 2020 at her residence after an extended illness.

    She was born in Lake City on March 24, 1955 to the late James H. and Gladys Waldron Hill.

    She has lived in the Lake City area most of her life and was in the Banking Industry, serving as a Branch Manager at Barnett, Columbia and Bank of America at different points. In her spare time, she enjoyed cruising, woodworking and playing and spending time with her grandchildren. She was also a member of Christ Central.

    She is preceded in death by her siblings, Gene William Hill and Jo Ann Hill Lee.

    She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Don Winkleman of Lake City; daughters, Amber McBride (Isaac) and Victoria Murray both of Lake City; son, Jason Michael Broshar (Naomi) of Lake City; brother, James “Buck” Hill (Mary) of Lake City; sister, Glenda Hill McCall (Gaston) of Lake City. Seven grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends also survive.

    Funeral services for Mrs. Winkleman will be conducted on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Lonnie Johns officiating.

    Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

    The family will receive friends on Monday evening, October 19, 2020 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations please be considered to the American Cancer Society. For those that are attending the services, CDC guidelines regarding masks and social distancing are encouraged to be followed. For those that are unable to attend, services will be live streamed by going to the Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Crematory Facebook page.

    Ms. Jo Ann Lee, 79, passed away Wednesday July 18, 2018 at the Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City, FL. following an extended illness. She is the daughter of the late James H. and Gladys Waldron Hill. She is preceded in death by her husband Fitzhugh Lee, Jr., and one brother Gene Hill. She was a lifelong resident of Lake City and a member of the Lake City Church of God. She was a devout mother, grandmother and great grandmother an avid golfer, and enjoyed crocheting, fishing and reading.

    She is survived by one son Robert Lee (Tina) Lake City, FL, two daughters Denise Huggins (Al) and Laura Lee (Wayne Cowart) both of Gainesville, FL; one brother Buck Hill (Mary) Lake City, FL; and two sisters Glenda McCall (Gaston) and Diane Winkleman (Don) both of Lake City, FL. three grandchildren Sean Lee (Lynsey); Alex Huggins (Jacquelyn) and Aaron Huggins (Paula). And eight great grandchildren Adrienne, Alyson, Alexa, Parker, Landon, Kayden, Kinzlie and Randi, also survive.

    Funeral services for Ms. Jo Ann Lee will be conducted Saturday July 21, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in the Lake City Church of God church on Ermine Street with Rev. Carroll Lee officiating, interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Lake City, FL. Visitation with the family will be held Friday July 20, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home Chapel.

    Mr. Shelton Rae Keen, age 69, of Lake City, Fl, passed away on Sunday, August 28th, 2022, at his residence. Mr. Keen was born in Lake City, Fl, on August 6th, 1953, son of the late Byron Keen and Rosette Keen (Waldron).

    He attended Columbia High School, where he excelled at any sport he tried, but was most passionate about baseball and softball. Upon graduating in 1972, he enlisted in the Navy, where he joined the All-Navy Mens softball team and traveled the world doing what he loved most, playing ball. After being stationed in Japan, he ended his time in the Navy in Washington D.C. where he worked at the National Security Agency handling top secret information. Upon discharge from the military, he worked in the pharmacy at the V.A hospital until he retired in 2005. He enjoyed retired life and spent most of his free time on the golf course or watching his favorite team, The Florida Gators. He devoted his entire life to raising his two kids, something he was very proud of and talked about often. His last few years were spent being a Papa and loving on his 3 Grandchildren. He will be missed immensely by friends, family and everyone that knew him.

    Survivors include his 2 Children, Shelley Cook (Daniel), St. Augustine, Fl; Shawn Keen (Tara), Lake City, Fl; 2 brothers, Edward Keen; Wayne Keen (Sandra); 3 sisters, Dot Christie; Byronelle Witt; and Voncile Hale (Morrison); all of Lake City, Fl. Countless nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

    A celebration of life will be held at Christ Central Ministries in Lake City, Fl, Saturday, September 10th, 2022 with visitation at 11am and service to follow at noon. Per Sheltons wishes, everyone is asked to wear Orange/Blue or your favorite Gator attire.

    Mr. Byron Edward Keen, age 83, of Lake City, Florida passed away Saturday, Oct. 1, at his residence following an extended illness.

    Mr. Keen had lived in Lake City, Florida most of his life. He was the owner operator of Keen’s Aviation & Recycling in the Bahamas for many years until ill health forced his retirement. He enjoyed being with friends, car racing, Florida Gator football, his family and grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by one son, Criss Keen and his parents, Byron and Rosette Waldron Keen.

    He is survived by his daughter, Suzanne (Mick) Spears of Venice, Florida; his son, Ronal D. “Ron” Keen of Lake City, Florida; four siblings, Dorothy Christie, Byronelle Witt, Voncille Hale and Wayne Keen; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive.

    A funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Keen will be held at 11 A. M. Friday, Oct. 7, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. Dustin Busscher officiating.

    Interment will be in Scott Cemetery, Columbia County, Florida.

    Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 10 to 11 A.M. Friday (One hour before services) at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd., Lake City, Florida.
