Novice M. Parrish

Mrs. Novice M. Parrish, 87, a lifelong resident of Lake City, passed away Monday evening, December 17, 2012 in The Health Center of Lake City following an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late Lewis and Rachel Melton Brady and was educated in and graduated from the Columbia County School System.

Mrs. Parrish had been a homemaker. She loved working in her yard, listening to gospel music and playing Bingo. She was a longtime faithful member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church.

Mrs. Parrish was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Parrish and three of her sons, Kenneth Parrish, Billy Joe Parrish and Phillip Parrish. Mrs. Parrish is survived by a son, Bobby Parrish (Marilyn) of Fort White; and two daughters, Linda Morrell and Shirley Mirra both of Lake City. Fifteen grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Parrish will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 20, 2012 in the Pine Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Ron Thompson of-ficiating.

Interment will follow in Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 Wednesday evening.

Mr. William "Kenneth" Parrish, 63, of Lake City, died early Friday morning, February 29, 2008 in the Lake City Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Parrish was born at Homestead Air Force Base in relocated to Lake City shortly after Kenneth was born and he has been a resident of Columbia County since then. Mr. Parrish was a member of the Columbia High School Graduating Class of 1963. He went to work for the Florida Department of Transportation in April of 1969 and retired several years ago, as a supervisor, due to his ill health. Mr. Parrish attended the Pine Grove Baptist Church. In his spare time he enjoyed tinkering in his workshop and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Parrish is survived by his wife of forty years, Brenda Parrish; two daughters, Shannon Rutherford and Amanda Parrish both of Lake City; his mother, Mrs. Novice Brady Parrish of Lake City; three brothers, Bobby Parrish, Fort White, Florida; Billy Joe Parrish and Phillip Parrish both of Lake City; and his two sisters, Shirley Mirra and Linda Morrell both of Lake City. His four grandchildren, Davie Parrish, Alexis Rutherford, Cody Parrish and Dalton Parrish also survive. Graveside funeral services for Mr. Parrish will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Monday, March 3, 2008 in Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Steve McDade and Rev. James Roberts officiating. Interment will immediately follow. There will be no visitation

Billy Joe Parrish, 55, of Lake City, FL, died Wednesday, April 1, 2009, after a brief illness. He was born in Homerville, GA and had resided in Lake City most of his life. He is the son of Novice Parrish and the late William Henry Parrish. Mr. Parrish was a registered nurse and had worked for several hospitals in Lake City. He enjoyed traveling and was a loving father and devoted husband of his deceased wife, Lisa Parrish. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Parrish.

Survivors include: One son: William "Bill" Parrish, Canyon, CO; Five daughters: Deann Chase (Bryan), Christina Douberley (Roy), Salena Feagle (Justin), Sariah Sanders (Mark), Jaime Green (Chris), all of Lake City; Mother: Novice Parrish, Lake City, FL, Two brothers: Phillip and Bobby Parrish, Lake City, FL; Two sisters: Shirley Mirra and Linda Morrell, both of Lake City, FL, and 14 grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Parrish will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2009, at 10 A.M. at Gateway-Forest Lawn Chapel with Pastor Buddy Meloy of New Life Christian Church officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Ms. Linda Gail (Parrish) Morrell, 59, of Lake City, went home to be with the Lord January 09, 2021 and will be missed.
She was born in Lake City, Florida February 7, 1961 to the late William and Novice Parrish.

Ms. Morrell was retired as a Nurse from NEFSH and was currently a nurse at the VA. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.

Ms. Morrell is preceded in death by her father and mother, William and Novice Parrish; 4 brothers, Kenneth, Bobby, Billy Joe, and Phillip Parrish along with one sister Shirley Parrish Mirra.

She is survived by her sons, Dylan Crews, and Jordan Crews (Brooke Spradley) both of Lake City; a special niece, Megan Mirra Yarbrough (Jamie), her fur babies Bo & Jett, along with a host of other nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Visitation for the family will be on Thursday January 14, 2021 from Noon-1pm, with visitation open to the public from 1pm-2pm, and services immediately following at Dees Parrish Family Funeral Home Memorial Chapel.

Mr. Phillip E. Parrish, 44, of Lake City, died Thursday morning, March 18, 2010 in the North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville following an extended illness.

A lifelong resident of Columbia County, Mr. Parrish was a graduate of Columbia High School and the Lake City Community College Corrections Training Academy. He worked for the Occidental Chemical Company as an acid plant operator for many years. He then began his career with the Florida Department of Corrections working at Columbia Correctional for eight years prior to his ill health forcing him to retire.

Mr. Parrish enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Parrish was preceded in death by his father, William H. Parrish and brothers, Kenneth Parrish and Billy Joe Parrish.

Mr. Parrish is survived by his son, Phillip Jordan "P.J." Parrish; his mother, Novice Parrish; sisters, Linda Gail Morrell & Shirley Ann Mirra all of Lake City and a brother, Bobby Lane Parrish of Fort White, Florida.

Funeral services for Mr. Parrish will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, March 21, 2010 in the chapel of the Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home with Rev. James Roberts and Bro. George Moultrie officiating.

Interment will follow in Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 Saturday evening at the funeral home.
