Obituary for Hazel C. Anderson
Mrs. Hazel Callaway Anderson, age 91 of Griffin, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Brightmoor Hospice after a short illness.
Mrs. Anderson was born September 29, 1920 in Claxton, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford Clyde Callaway and Larue Barrow Callaway; husband, Isaac K. Anderson; sisters, Amy Callaway Smith, Grace Callaway Butler; brothers, Wilton Callaway, Wallace Calloway, Ellis Callaway; granddaughter, Cindy Anderson. Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker and devoted to her family, her church, Griffin Primitive Baptist Church, where she was a long time member. Mr. and Mrs. Callaway were foster parents for over 30 children for many years.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Kermit C. and Hazel Anderson of Fayetteville, Dale F. and Carolyn Anderson of Lithia Springs; sister, Nancy Callaway Dorton of Griffin; brother, Clyde Stanfield Callaway of Norfolk, VA; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Hazel Callaway Anderson will be on Sunday, April 15, 2012 from 3:00pm until 4:00pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Following the visitation, funeral services will be conducted at 4:00pm in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Elder Frank King will officiate. Interment will follow in Griffin Memorial Gardens.
