Edwin G. Hallman age 73 of Snellville passed away Wednesday, January 09, 2013.
A funeral service will be held 2 PM Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Maranatha Baptist Church, Lilburn, with Dr. Jim Stallings & Rev. Jim Hyatt officiating.
The burial will follow at Eternal Hills Memory Garden.
Mr. Hallman was the son of Winnie Davis Tootle Hallman and grew up in Mendes, GA, graduated from Glennville High School, served in the U.S. Army Reserves at Ft. Jackson, SC. He retired after 33 years of service with DeKalb County as Chief Development Inspector. He was a charter member and Deacon at Maranatha Baptist Church.
Mr. Hallman was preceded in death by sisters & brothers; Jewette Waters, Marquette Waters, Pete Hallman, Lucille Waters, and granddaughter, Lindsey Benton.
He is survived by his Wife of 51 years: Ernestine Tallent Hallman, Snellville; Daughters & Sons-in-law: Stephanie & Mike Cooper, Newborn, GA; Sheri & Tim Benton, Loganville; Sister: Novis Clifton, Woodland, AL; Grandchildren: James & Sarah Cooper; DeeAnn & Casey Kendrick; Elizabeth Cooper; Megan Benton; & Natalie Benton.
He was loved and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Robert Pete Hallman, 69, died Thursday, August 28, 2003 at Toombs Nursing Home after an extended illness.
The Tattnall County native was retired after 25 years from Schreiner College in Kerrville, TX as Professor of English where he served as chairman of the English department for 15 years. He taught at Brewton Parker College for several years and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and a member of Mendes Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Hallman, step-sister, Lucille Waters, and brother, Jewette Waters.
Survivors: brothers and sisters-in-law, Edwin and Ernestine Hallman, of Snellville, Marquette and Mary Frances Waters of Glennville;sister, Novis Clifton of Townsend; sister-in-law, Ohma Waters of Snellville; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation: 2:00 - 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 31, 2003 at Carter Funeral Chapel.
Funeral Services: 3:00 p.m., with Rev. Carl Ledbetter officiating.
Burial: Mendes Baptist Church Cemetery at a later date.
Remembrances: Alzheimers Association.

Novis Waters Clifton, of Mendes, passed away Monday, June 30, 2014 at Tanner Medical Center of Carrollton, Georgia.
She was born in Mendes on July 6, 1919, daughter of the late William Waters and Winnie Tootle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick W. Clifton; daughter, Martha Ann Cook; one sister, Lucille Waters; four brothers, Jewette Waters, Marquette Waters, Robert Pete Hallman and Edwin G. Hallman; two granddaughters; one great grandchild; and one great-great grandchild.
Survivors include: Sons: Leo W. Clifton Sr. (Glenda), Joel F. Clifton (Linda); 10 grand children, 24 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 am, Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Mendes Baptist Church. Special presentation of memories will be provided by her loving survivors.
Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am. Entombment will follow in Mendes Baptist Church Cemetery.
