Jerel Dale Oliver, 53, of Savannah, died Saturday, June 5, 2004 at his residence, under the care of Vista Hospice.
He was born in Metter, GA, and was a member of Southside Baptist Church. He had served as an Engineer for the Southern Railroad for over 31 years, and was Local Chairman of the United Transportation Union.
His parents, Clyde and Helen Wells Oliver and two brothers, Jimmy Clyde Oliver and Larry Winton Oliver preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Linda Terrell Oliver, Savannah, GA; a daughter, Lindsey Oliver, Savannah, GA; a son, Nicholas Oliver, Savannah, GA; a brother, Charles Oliver of Collins, GA, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home - Hodgson Memorial Chapel.
Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Southside Baptist Church, with Dr. W. Allan Bosson, Dr. Wayne Moseley, and Rev. Lamar Terrell, officiating.
Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
Mr. Oliver will be taken to the Church at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday to lie in state.
