    Katherine Harden Dicks, 96, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ early Saturday morning, February 6, 2021. She was a long-time member of Hopeful Baptist Church and well known for her cooking. In her spare time, you could often find her fishing for mullet at her place on the Suwannee.

    She was born on February 14, 1924 to the late Cleveland and Mina Head Harden of Lake City, Florida. She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, F.J. Dicks, her parents and brothers, Frank Harden (Bessie), Brantley Harden (Lois), Wilbur Harden (Leona), and Wilford Harden (Aileen).

    She is survived by her children, J.L. Dicks (Pat), Harry Dicks (Patsy) and Leonard Dicks (Janice); her grandchildren; Bruce Dicks, Joye Ballard, Julie Bielling, Jay Dicks, Emily Howell, Clay Dicks, Clint Dicks, Brian Dicks, Brad Dicks, Justin Dicks and Lee Dicks; twenty five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

    Funeral services for Mrs. Dicks will be conducted on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in the Hopeful Baptist Church with Dr. Billy Young, Brother Larry Sweat and Dr. Ralph Rodriguez officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, February 9, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home. The family will be meeting at Mrs. Dicks’ home and welcome all who want to visit. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations please be considered to Hopeful Baptist Church or Gideon’s International or to Haven Hospice of Lake City.     Joseph L. “J.L.” Dicks, 82, of Lake City went to meet Jesus on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center. A native and lifelong resident of Lake City, he was the son of the late Francis Joseph and Katherine Harden Dicks. J.L. was a successful businessman and loved spending time with his family. He loved to go riding and cruising pine trees, fishing, going out to eat, watching the Florida Gators, and was a Deacon at Hopeful Baptist Church since 1966. He was preceded in death by his wife Lottie Dicks in 2007.

    Mr. Dicks is survived by his wife, Pat Wrin Dicks; children, Bruce Dicks (Tara), Joye Ballard (Jeff), Julie Bielling (Jered), and Jay Dicks; grandchildren, John Wesley, Andrew (Lindsey), Abegail and Matthew Ballard, Zach Dicks, Jace and Jenna Bielling, and Whitney Dicks; great grandson, Alexander Ballard; stepchildren, Dana and Andy Wrin; step grandchildren, Owen and Gracie Weekley, Ashleigh and Ally Wrin; brothers, Harry (Patsy) Dicks and Leonard (Janice) Dicks.

    Funeral services for Mr. Dicks will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Hopeful Baptist Church with Dr. Billy Young and Rev. Larry Sweat officiating. Interment will follow at Hopeful Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Hopeful Baptist Church on Friday evening from 5:00-7:00 P.M.
