BIOGRAPHY
Graveside services for Gertrude Morgan Wilkes, 84, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, January 24, 2011, at Salem Presbyterian Church Cemetery at Salem Crossroads. Bishop Tony Ashworth will be presiding. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service.
Mrs. Wilkes died on Saturday, January 22, 2011, at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital. One of five children of the late Henry and Esther Jackson Morgan, she was born on November 26, 1926.
She is survived by four children, Dennis Brannon (Teresa), Ronnie Brannon (Frances), Esther Wilkes, and Earl D. “Buddy” Wilkes, Jr. (Tracey); ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Wilkes was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Earl Douglas Wilkes; two sons, Glenn Brannon and David Wilkes; two grandchildren, Jamie Brannon and Dee Dixon; one sister, Rose Jackson; and three brothers, Melvin, Dan, and Leroy Morgan.

Esther Wilkes
WINNSBORO - A graveside service for Esther Irene Wilkes, age 55, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2011, at Salem Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Salem Crossroads, conducted by the Reverend Richard Hodges.
The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
Ms. Wilkes died on Monday, August 8, 2011, at her home. She was the daughter of the late Earl Douglas Wilkes and Gertrude Morgan Wilkes.
She was predeceased by her son, Samuel Lee Dixon III, and one brother, David Eugene Wilkes.
She is survived by one granddaughter, Lauren Grace Dixon; brothers Dennis Brannon, Ronnie Brannon, and Earl D. Wilkes, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.

Samuel Dixon III
WINNSBORO - Funeral services for Samuel Lee “Dee” Dixon, III will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, at the Pope Funeral Home conducted by Mr. Frances E. Lewis.
Burial will follow in Salem Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Pope Funeral Home.
Mr. Dixon, 30, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004.
Born in Columbia, Dec. 31, 1973, he was the only son of Esther Irene Wilkes and the late Samuel Lee Dixon, Jr.
“Dee” is survived by his mother of Winnsboro; a daughter, Lauren Grace Dixon of Winnsboro; his maternal grandparents who raised him, Earl and Gertrude Wilkes of Winnsboro; his paternal grandparents, Sam and Lavonne Dixon of Lake Wateree. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
“Dee” will be missed very much.
