"William Fowler Jr. (1795-1852) married Rachel Parker (1803-1873) and their descendants include Dr. Jacob Franklin Highsmith of Fayetteville who owned the first private hospital in North Carolina." from THE HERITAGE OF SAMPSON COUNTY, Oscar Bizell, Ed., 1983, p. 408.
