  From Glennville Sentinel 25 Jun 2004 Marvin Powell Marvin C. Powell, 72, died late Monday night, June 21, 2004, at Candler County Hospital in Metter. The Tattnall County native lived in Savannah for 24 years before moving back to Reidsville in 1974. He was a building contractor, local businessman, a lover of Bluegrass music, and was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Frances Johnson Powell of Reidsville; three sons and daughters-in-law: Robert and Lisa Powell of Reidsville; Ramon and Michelle Powell of Lyons; and Randy Powell of Guyton; one sister, Dollie Hines of Mount Vernon; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 24, at Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 25, at Reidsville Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Marion Patton and the Rev. Charlie Edge. Interment will follow in Reidsville City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Johnson, Doug Johnson, Greg Johnson, Richard Braddy, Wiley Sumner, and Eddie Horne. Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home of Reidsville, Georgia, is in charge of the arrangements.
