Fort McCoy - Charles Emory Powell, 79, passed away peacefully March 15th, 2013 at Hospice Sylvia's House.
He was born in Collins, Georgia, but has resided in Marion County for the majority of his life. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, and worked as a concrete finisher until he retired.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Verglene Powell; daughter-in-law Monica Powell; great grandson Shane Emory Christian II; and his brother William J. Powell.
Along with his parents and several brothers and sisters, he is survived by his son Michael Charles Powell, Ocala, and daughter Donna M. Powell, Fort McCoy; five grandchildren, Shane Christian, Michael Powell Jr., Courtney Crews, Alisha Crews and Brandon Powell; along with three great grandchildren.
