- Robert F. Hayes, 75, of Palatka died Monday, July 29, 1996, at Flagler Hospital West in St. Augustine.
He was born in Ocala and had been a longtime resident of Putnam County. He was a member of Palatka Moose Lodge 184 and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He had retired from Georgia-Pacifica and he was a Baptist.
He is survived by a son, Robert Hayes of Chiefland; daughters, Linda Bevens of Tampa and Rosie Rupert of Bunnell; stepson, Arthur Potter of Lake Como; stepdaughters, Becky Richardson of DeLeon Springs and Alice Gayle of Spartenburg, S.C.; brother, Jack Hayes of Vicksburg, Miss.; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Thursday at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka with Dr. Robert J. Mills officiating. burial will follow in Oak Hill East Cemetery.
