- Ralph Earnest Johnson, 64, passed away Wednesday at home after a courageous battle with cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy of Miami; his father, William B. Johnson of Winter Haven; his daughter, Vickie Carver; and her husband, Stuart, of Tampa; two sons, Allen Johnson of Miami and Curtis Johnson of Charlotte, NC; Jennifer and Cynthia Johnson of Hollywood and Tim and Jeff Carver of Tampa.
Ralph was Vice President of R.S. Aviation, Inc. He was a devoted Christian, with a genuine faith in the saving grace of his Lord Jesus Christ. He was an active member of Pines Baptist Church of Pembroke Pines, Florida where he served as Chairman of the Finance Committee. Ralph was civically active in the conservation efforts of several Florida conversation organizations including the Florida Wildlife Federation, Safari Club International, Everglades Coordinating Council and the Broward County Airboat, Halftrack and Conservation Club.
Family will greet friends at Pines Baptist Church, 800 NW 102nd Avenue, Pembroke Pines,FL on Saturday, December 21, 2002 from l p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the William B. Johnson Scholarship Fund or the Pines Youth Center c/o Pines Baptist Church, 800 NW 102nd Ave., Pembroke Pines, FL 33026. The William B. Johnson Scholarship Fund is available to students pursuing full time Christian ministry. The Pines Youth Center offers a variety of activities designed to prepare youth for tomorrow. Both of these ministries were very dear to Ralph's heart. Arrangements were entrusted to American Memorial Centers, Fort Lauderdale, FL (888) 530-8177.
