  	Elijah "Lige" Petty--age about 60, a lifelong citizen of Charlton County, passed away at his home Thursday following a heart attack. He was a retired employee of the ACL Railroad and had been in declining health for the past several years. He served for more than 30 years in the maintenance department of the railroad before being forced to retire on account of bad health. His home is reported to have been damaged by fire Wednesday and it is thought that the attending excitement brought on the fatal heart attack.
