- Jesse Harvey, age 88, of 5364 Rio Grande Ave, Jacksonville, died Saturday in the V.A. Hospital in Lake City following an illness of several weeks. Mr. Harvey was a native of Baker County and had lived in Jacksonville for several years. He was a veteran of WW I and served with the U.S. Army. He was the son of the late John W. and Tina Cason Harvey. Mr. Harvey was a retired farmer. Surviving are: 4 daughters, Mrs. Frank Conner, Mrs. Jessie Rhoden, Mrs. Pauline Long, and Mrs. James H. Greene, all of Jacksonville; 2 sons, Carold J. Harvey, Brandon, MS. and Paul E. Harvey, Jacksonville; also 34 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 P.M. from the Taylor New Congregational Methodist Church with Elder G.D. Fish and Elder Henry Rhoden, officiating, assisted by Elder O.M. Yarborough. Pallbearers were: Tommy Rhoden, Dale Rhoden, Jimmy Rhoden, Joseph Long, Johnny Harvey, and Randolph Allen. Interment was in Taylor Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were in charge of John M. Brinkley, Mortician, Macclenny.
