- Charles C. Sikes, 83 passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 in Jacksonville, FL.
Mr. Sikes was a resident of Jacksonville for 35 years. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1966 after 21 years of service. He then retired from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida in 1993 after 20 years service. Charles loved bluegrass music and camping in the Great Smokey Mountains.
He was predeceased by his mother and father, Charles and Elnetta Sikes and his sister, Mary.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Betty Sikes; sons, Charles, Jr., Gregory, Wayne, and David (Lynn) Sikes; daughter, Jennifer Sikes; sisters, Dorothy Bradford and Faye Rowland; brothers, Haskel Sikes and Johnny Williams; grandchildren, Lindsey, Jacob and Heather; great grandson, Bobby.
Funeral services in celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2011, 11:00 AM in the chapel of JACKSONVILLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, FL with Rev. Jerry Rowell officiating.
Family and friends will visit from 10 until 11 AM prior to the service.
