- Johnnie Mae Thompson (Mrs. Ira Thompson) entered into the presence of Jesus on October 20, 2015, and she was reunited with her husband, Ira Thompson, Sr. and her daughter, Lendy Gordon.
She was a native of Wrightsville, GA, but had lived in Jacksonville, Florida for over 70 years.
She is survived by her five sons; Ira Thompson, Jr., Carl Thompson, James Thompson, George Thompson, and Sam Thompson; by 9 of her 10 daughters; Kristi Whitfield, Gracie Thompson, Misty Maxwell, Dora Brown, Liz Thompson, LaVona Flynt, Brenda Mosley, Shasta Baldwin and April Lee, 33 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held, Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 11:00am in Temple Baptist Church, Jacksonville, FL with Rev. Roger Whorton officiating followed by interment in Riverside Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at FRASER FUNERAL HOME 8168 Normandy Blvd. (781-4314) from 6:00 - 8:00pm Friday.
